Atzán persze magamhoz tértem, ott a fehér helyiség antiszeptikus falai közt, s bejött a művészeti műveltségem is, körülbelül így: Zrínyi és Frangepán a bécsújhelyi börtönben, s megint Mozart, a kései G-moll szimfónia lejtésével, illetve bizonyos kripták, bizonyos szerzetesrendek csontjaival valahol Szicíliában, meg hasonlók.
Kecses, mondhatni játszi könnyedséggel összeválogatott gyűjtemény volt ez, mindenféle újságfotókból, hírdetési képekből, utazási irodák prospektusaiból. Ági csak igen keveset adott hozzá ezekhez az ábrázolásokhoz, és mindig ugyanazt: egy vidám, a képen látható dolgokkal cinkos egyetértéssel összekacsintó csontvázat. Egy táncos lábú, sápadt tudjuk már mit, egy halálmukit, egy zörgő és kaján, kicsit neveletlen és kicsit túl fehér izé-alakzatot. Többnyire mosollyal a nem száján és graciőz karmozdulatokkal a nem kezével. Egy Chaplint, ahogy megengedhetetlen mértékben levetkőzött és zörgővé kopott.
